Burleigh County, North Dakota purchased RTVision’s Time Plus software as a way to track maintenance project costs, material and part inventories, and equipment maintenance/repairs.  

Labor and project hours, as well as equipment, inventory and part usage, are all tracked in an employee-managed, web-based timecard application. Part and inventory usage is then deducted from any purchases to track, real-time balances. Labor hours are associated to labor costs to determine not only project costs and activity costs, but also billable costs.

Terri Ziegler, Account Manager at Burleigh County, uses Time Plus to track detailed FEMA information required by the federal government. In 2009, Burleigh County had more than 300 damage sites that required FEMA restoration work, as well as preventative measures for flooding. The Missouri River runs through Burleigh County, and nearly every year Burleigh County must track and submit employee and equipment costs related to FEMA work.

In past years, Ziegler would take hand-written timesheets and calculate labor and equipment costs. She would then manually re-enter that information into a FEMA report for submission. Now, labor hours and equipment usage, including a notes section to give detailed description of work, are entered electronically into Time Plus to create real-time reports that are automatically generated. These printed reports are accepted by FEMA and can be directly submitted to FEMA without having to re-enter information onto different forms, saving time and producing information much more quickly.
