St Louis County, Minnesota, the largest County in the United States east of the Mississippi River, processed all permits by paper. Their goal was to move their Right of Way/Utility Permit and Oversize/Overweight permits online, via OneGov, to provide better applicant access and more efficient processing.
“St. Louis County is fully invested in automated online permitting using RTVision’s OneGov permitting solution. Customer benefits include being able to apply from home or business, online credit card payment, electronic workflow notifications and permit history. Benefits for our agency include automated payments that register back to our cost accounting software, workflow approvals from any mobile device, automated email notifications, less data entry, no paper and all of our permit data in a searchable database. “
James Foldesi, P.E., St Louis County Public Works Director
OneGov, a low-code/no-code application that provides agencies with the ability to easily build out online forms, notifications, workflow process, and automated rules, handles over 50 different types of permits, licenses, registrations, and online forms.
With the success of moving these permit applications online, the County also decided to setup permits for Driveway and Special Use, as well as applications for private and township snowplowing and service signs on OneGov. Mr. Foldesi adds, “Automated online permitting has created efficiencies that allow us to focus on other important activities.”
