Wright County, MN has been using OneOffice for over 15 years to manage construction and maintenance project management and later began using online bidding through bidVAULT. Wright County and it’s contractors found benefit in using the web-based bidding service because it improved bidding accuracy and reduced the amount of time to prepare documents, like bid tabulations. Bid information is automatically uploaded into OneOffice so what may have taken staff hours to manually input values, now takes a matter of seconds to generate reports and post information to their public dashboard. The County Engineer at Wright County, Virgil Hawkins, P.E. explained, “Wright County staff has found using BidVault to be a valuable time saver, for both our staff and contractors that bid on our projects. In addition, the option where contractors pay a small fee for the service, there is no cost to the county for using BidVault. We have received nothing but positive comments from contractors and our own staff.”
Use of OneOffice and bidVAULT also provides benefit by keeping all relevant project documentation in a single location electronically. In doing so, government agencies can more easily find historical data and utilize data to find trends and make more informed decisions. More recently Wright County went through a routine audit and the Assistant Engineer at Wright County, Chad Hausmann, P.E., noted the benefits of having all data maintained, electronically, in a single location, “Utilizing OneOffice and BidVault for Wright County’s 2019 federally funded reconstruction project aided us significantly during a recent MnDOT audit of the project. BidVault insured no errors or missing documentation was submitted during bidding. Wright County also uses OneOffice for Weekly Diaries, Item Record Accounts, Change Orders, Contractor Pay requests, Material on Hand, etc. This made it very easy for us to provide MnDOT accurate information for the items they requested. Overall, our audit resulted in very minor comments from MnDOT and OneOffice was an important part of that.”
